Hygienists work to maintain their patient’s oral health by ensuring good oral hygiene habits. They work closely with the dentists at Burgate Dental Practice & Implant Centre; to save teeth by preventing and treating gum disease, helping people get rid of associated problems like bad breath, and stain removal and teaching their patients methods to maintain good oral health at home.
Both our Dental Hygienists; Debbie and Alison are extremely motivated to improve patients’ oral health and provide the best ongoing care possible.
Each clinician works differently with varying appointment lengths and preferences. However, at each hygienist visit the clinician will:
You can book a hygienist appointment at any time that suits you. If you notice any signs of gum disease such as bleeding gums, or any concerns with breath or staining a hygiene appointment is particularly ideal for you. If you would like advice regarding your gum health or education on how to clean most effectively then again, a hygienist appointment would be ideal.
Some people may find dental cleaning uncomfortable at times, but it should not be painful. If this is the case, the reason that you may be experiencing pain or tenderness at your visit to the hygienist is usually that your gums are inflamed from improper tooth brushing and flossing. Remember the hygienist wants you to feel as happy and comfortable as possible throughout your visit. There are options to help with this if needed- this should be discussed with the hygienist at your visit.
At Burgate Dental Practice & Implant Centre, there are various booking options. You can call, email the practice, or book online via our website; online bookings require a deposit to reserve your appointment time.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding your appointment, please do not hesitate to contact us, a member of the team will be happy to help.
