Significant dose reduction and exposure time is achieved with our digital intra-oral radiographs compared to traditional X-ray films. We use positioning devices to improve the quality of our images and avoid errors, as well as small-size detectors to improve our patient’s overall experience.
We have recently invested in a state-of-the-art; orthopantomography (OPG), and 3D cone beam computer tomography scanner. 2D and 3D extra-oral scanners are essential screening devices in implant dentistry, orthodontics, minor oral surgery, and endodontics. CBCT images (axial and cross-sections) are indispensable in endodontics for the evaluation of the morphology of the tooth including location and number of canals, pulp chamber size and degree of calcification, root structure, direction and curvature, fractures, iatrogenic defects, the extent of dental caries. In implant dentistry; CBCT scans make it easy for the dentist to measure and localize the available jawbone. This facilitates a virtual implant placement with accuracy and precision. We use the CBCT and an optical scan (digital intra-oral scanner), to create a complete virtual model of the patient’s soft tissues, bones, and teeth.
